
Jack Clinton graduated from the University of Texas with a Chemical Engineering degree in 1962, and then went to work for Diamond Shamrock Corporation in Deer Park, Texas as a process engineer. He progressed through technical and production management positions at the Deer Park plant before moving to Diamond's Delaware City, Delaware plant as Assistant Plant Manager in 1969.
Clinton moved to Diamond's headquarters in 1971, where he was promoted to a series of marketing, business, and general management jobs, culminating in this becoming Division Marketing Manager in 1980 and Vice-President of the International Division in 1982. When Diamond Shamrock Chemical Corporation was purchased by Occidental Chemical (OxyChem) in 1986, Clinton was given the responsibility to run the world-wide Chlor/Alkali business for OxyChem, at the time the largest single profit contributor among all of Occidental Petroleum's many businesses. He became well known around the world as the premier business expert for the chlorine-caustic industry during the 1980's.
Clinton retired from OxyChem in 1993 to found an active consulting business, working with major U.S. and international companies in economic and technical projects related to the chlorine-caustic soda business. He also worked with Houston consultant, CMAI, from 1994 to 1998, developing and marketing their Chlor-Alkali Market Report, the definitive world-wide strategy analysis for this industry.
Mr. Clinton joined CNR's Board of Directors in 2003, where he has made valuable contributions to the company's businesses. He currently serves on the compensation and audit committees.
Clinton and his wife, Arlene, live in Dallas where they both are active in Worldwide Voice in the Wilderness, a prison and after care ministry, and Hillcrest Church.
