Joseph M. Kane

Joseph M. Kane is Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Cooper Natural Resources, Inc.; a position he has held since 1998. Since 2002 he has served as president of Laguna Salada, a joint venture of CNR. He is also the managing director of Saltex, LLC.

Mr. Kane provided managerial leadership to Elf Atochem North America, Inc., from 1991-1998, through the company's U.S. subsidiary in Paris, France. As business manager, he served three divisions including refrigerants with revenues of $300 million (1997-1998), the imported products group obtaining revenues of $60 million (1997), and mineral products with $40 million of revenue (1996-1997). He also held positions in mineral products as national sales manager (1993-1995) and regional sales manager (1991-1993).

Kane provided more than a decade of service to Mobay Chemical, a Bayer Chemical U.S. subsidiary in Leverkusen, Germany. His roles within the inorganic chemicals division included that of regional sales manager (1988-1991), regional sales representative (1986-1988), and technical sales engineer (1983-1986). In the glass coatings area he held the positions of technical engineer (1981-1983) and research & development engineer (1980-1981).

Mr. Kane received his education through Alfred University in Alfred, New York, earning a BS in Ceramic Engineering, and the University of Sheffield in Sheffield, England, where he studied Material Science.
