About This Position

When driving: hauling salt from the plant to the loading station while operating and maintaining the company vehicle safely. When not driving: general maintenance and repair of buildings, facilities, equipment, and grounds.

When driving:

  • Chalking truck when loading and unloading.
  • Weigh in/out, perform pre and post trip inspections on the truck.
  • Perform basic troubleshooting and assist maintenance.

When not driving:

  • Operate, adjust, and monitor equipment.
  • Perform a variety of work in the maintenance and repair of buildings, grounds, and equipment.
  • Perform inspections on equipment and facilities.
  • Submit written and verbal reports of findings.

Full Job Description

When driving:

Commercial Driver will perform a variety of duties in the operation of hauling Sodium Sulfate from Ozark plant to railhead. This position consists of chalking truck when loading/unloading, and following the all loading processes rules and regulations. This position also requires (mandatory) the wearing of personal protective equipment during loading/unloading procedures and performing pre and post inspections. This position is located in our Ozark Division in Gaines County, Texas.

When not driving:

General maintenance and repair of buildings, facilities, equipment, and grounds. Performs a variety of work in the maintenance and repair of buildings and grounds at various facilities/sites including electrical, plumbing, welding, and painting tasks; repairs and treats structures such as floors, sinks, walls, roofs; performs minor troubleshooting, repairs; reports mechanical malfunctions to appropriate party for action; moves and assists in moving equipment at various facilities/sites; oversee and execute maintenance projects within schedule and budget utilizing work window allowed by operating consideration of activities. Performs inspections of equipment and facilities including but not limited to overhead contact wire systems, traction power substations, building electrical/mechanical, communication systems. Submits verbal and written reports of inspection findings to Plant Manager. Recommends and executes maintenance schedules and supervisory procedures, exercises discretion in identifying projects requiring the service of a higher skilled crafts person. Maintains clean, safe, and orderly work sites. Investigates, analyzes, and makes recommendations for correcting potential safety problems. Ensure compliance with all applicable policies and rules. Recommend safety procedures and standard practices to ensure maintenance activities proceed safely and efficiently.
